Course Description
Starting outside Erlanger Park steps away from the heart of downtown, runners leave the Tennessee River behind and embark on a climb toward the skyline of Lookout Mountain. In just a few miles, the city's energy fades into forests, hitting the Far Enough Trail, Guild Trail, Upper Gum, rugged sandstone bluffs, and flowing singletrack protected by the Lookout Mountain Conservancy and Chattanooga National Military Park.
The course travels across historic mountain landscapes, winding through mixed hardwoods, scenic overlooks, and technical trails that have helped make Chattanooga one of the Southeast's premier trail destinations and Outdoor Magazine's "Best Town Ever" twice. Every climb up Lookout Mountain toward Covenant College reveals a new perspective, every descent rewards the effort, and every mile draws runners deeper into Lookout Mountain's beauty.
From Covenant College, you will head back home. The descent takes runners back down the mountain toward the Tennessee River, into St. Elmo, where the city's energy returns and the finish line awaits inside Erlanger Park.
